PONDEROO ARTS EXPERIENCE

A celebration of creativity and community! Weaving the visual arts into the music

through hands-on activities for all ages.

COMMUNITY ART STATIONS

THURS: 5:30 - 8:00 PM  |  FRI: 3:30 - 6:30 PM  | SAT: 11:00 AM - 5:30 PM

  • Who is at Big Ponderoo? People-Watching Magic Capture the festival's vibrant spirit by crafting a miniature festival-goer! Use upcycled materials, yarn, googly eyes, and pipe cleaners to create a whimsical mini-me, favorite musician, or musical creature to join you all weekend.

  • Kindness Cards: Pocket-Sized Positivity Spread some love! Design a multi-purpose card using paints, stickers, and sparkles. Keep it as a festival bookmark, decal or hand it to a stranger who made you smile to keep the good vibes flowing.

  • Little Ponderoos Keepsakes: Guitars & Pinecones Celebrate local nature and Americana music. Customize a flat wooden cutout of a guitar or a ponderosa pinecone using vibrant markers and bling to create a unique High Desert keepsake.

  • 10-Second Draw: Fast-Paced Fun Challenge a friend or neighbor to a lightning-fast drawing duel! Pull a festival prompt from the jar and race the clock. It's not about perfection—it's about quick thinking and shared giggles.

  • Build-a-Scene: Collaborative Canvas Team up to co-create a shifting landscape. Players take turns adding one element at a time—a horizon, a sun, a tree, or a dancer. Watch a blank page transform into a team masterpiece.

  • The Community Quilting Wall Decorate an 8” x 8” mat board with paint pens to illustrate a favorite memory, lyric, or abstract design. Stick it to the fence board by the First Aid tent to help build our collective weekend quilt.

  • Bandana Botanicals Transfer natural pigments directly into fabric! Arrange fresh flowers on a festival bandana and use a hammering technique to release their organic shapes, leaving you with a wearable, one-of-a-kind keepsake. Thanks to Pine Meadow Ranch for partnering on this project!

Please note: Activities will rotate throughout the weekend and may not all be available at once. Stop by often to see what we're creating!

LIVE PAINTER: KAREN ELAND

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY  |  TO THE LEFT OF THE PONDEROO STAGE

Watch a mural unfold before your eyes as Bend-based artist Karen Eland is inspired by the sights and sounds of the Village Green Park venue!

ABOUT KAREN:

Karen has been a creator since childhood, but a portrait class at age 14 unexpectedly propelled her into an art career. In addition to painting murals, Karen is known for her trademark style - painting with coffee! In 1998, the rich color of perfect espresso caught her eye, and she dipped her brush in immediately. The happy results sparked a new art form, and she explored the potential of coffee as paint by recreating famous masterpieces such as her "Mona Latte", eventually working from her own photos and ideas as well.

Her skills have opened the door for her to travel worldwide to England, France, Italy, Croatia, Dubai, Chile, and Switzerland.  Karen welcomes commissions, live painting demos, and travel opportunities.

Check out her mural work with collaborator, Katie Daisy here and her coffee paintings here.
